The long road of realising nobody actually cares

I can’t remember where I was when I first decided to write online. I can’t remember where I was when I decided to start my first business. I can’t even remember where I was when I started to build my current business.

I’ve spent far too much time in my life stuck in the middle ground of other people’s expectations.

What if they think I’m a loser?
What if I’m not good enough?
What if I fail?

My realisation so far in life is two-fold. And one feeds the other.

First off, most of the time, people are not thinking of you. They’re too busy thinking about them. How often do you think of others, I mean really…

How much of today did you spend thinking about what Suzie at work does and what you think of her?

None?

Yeah, me either.

You and I are Suzie.

So the first realisation is this: 99% of people are not thinking about you at all.

Ohhh, but the 1%. The 1%!

So, let’s think of that 1%. This is how the 1% think of you. They will think of you in passing, in a split second, in a minute of thought.
