The Things Somebody Should Have Taught You

And why they should have

I’m not sure anybody ever taught us how to stand still, breathe deep and soak in the world. At least, they never taught me.

Not that everything in life should be taught, maybe some things are better off discovered. There is a revelation in the frustration. Well, at least at the end of it.

I’ve been wrestling with this idea of enough lately, and I’ve been dancing around, trying to find stillness in the abundance of life, in the abundance of aspiration.

Chasing my own tail has been exhausting lately, I realized I needed to slow down.

The realization

Lately I’d convinced myself that my career needed a complete overhaul.

Once I’d finished my behemoth of a renovation, I would tackle my professional life. I would finally get hold of my aspirations, then I could get my life on track.

It’s funny.

My life wasn’t off track.

  • I have a good job
  • One that I like
  • A life that I love.

Nothing needed a transformation, I didn’t need to reassess my career.
