Going out on your own costs a pretty penny.

More than that actually. A lot more. It costs money, sure but that’s the least of your worries. It costs time. And that’s the most expensive of all.

The time you’ll never get back. Time spent researching, combing through data, understanding the market. You’ll spend most time battling yourself no doubt. Are you good enough? Are you smart enough? Do you know enough about this subject?

The dialogue will continue regardless of your experience, gift, hard work or money. It always does.

The 1% club

It’s important to understand what you are asking from the world. If you’re asking that you become a small business owner that turns over £10 million every year for the next ten years. Well, to be a business owner in the current climate, you would fall into the 8% of the population within the UK today.

According to current stats, there are 5.8 million SMEs in the UK today and there are 66.44 million people in the UK today. Only 30% will make it to their 10th year. So you’re actually asking to be 0.76% of the population.
