The Best Self-Improvement Concepts Boiled Down to 9 Rules to Live By
So you can get on with actually using them
I’ve loved self-development, self-improvement since I can remember.
There is something quite lovely about the effort to be the best version of yourself. Not for any other reason than to see what you are capable of and to achieve the things you’ve always dreamt of. Mostly to not get to the end of your life and wish you’d lived another way.
The realisation that you don’t have to sit on the sidelines if you don’t wish, if instead, you want to go out there and see what you could achieve if you really wanted to.
Here are the best self-improvement rules I’ve learned in the last 10 years.
1. Keep your word (to yourself)
One of the best places to start is to keep your word to yourself.
If you promised yourself you would get up today, if you promised yourself you’d write that article or pitch that idea — do it. Not for anyone else but for you, because you promised yourself you would, and that’s important.
You want to get in the habit of keeping your word, making promises you don’t break, and respecting yourself. If you said you would try the thing, try the thing.
