Building a Brand Is About What People Say Behind Your Back
And here’s how to think about it
I walked into my orthodontist’s practice a week ago.
I hadn’t stepped foot in that place for a good 5 years. It was a bit of a journey to get braces for me and so I sort of try to avoid it at all costs (my teeth developed late, I ended with braces at 21).
Anyway, after deciding to get braces (and coughing up the $4k that went with it) it took 3 years of tightening to get the cheesy grin I have now.
I have zero regrets.
I remember the day Mandeep (my orthodontist) told me today was the day the train tracks came off.
It had been a series of visits where I eagerly thought ‘is this going to be the day?!’
Only for him to say “a little longer left.”
The day he told me today was the day, I thought he was joking.
But he wasn’t.
Twenty minutes later, braceless, I couldn’t stop running my tongue along the front of them. They felt like one continuous tooth. They were so smooooooth.
It was one of the best decisions getting those braces and I’m happy to report that for the most part (well sort of) I’ve been wearing my retainer and my teeth are in…
